Partner - Soma Bagaria
Soma Bagaria is a Senior Partner at S.K. Lath & Co. and leads the Firm’s Corporate Advisory and Commercial Transactions practice. With extensive experience across domestic and international legal environments, she advises corporates, investors, promoters, financial institutions, start-ups and family-owned businesses on complex corporate, commercial and transactional matters.
Soma began her legal career with Global Law Alliance LLC, Singapore, where she gained valuable exposure to cross-border commercial transactions and international business structures. She subsequently joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (formerly Amarchand Mangaldas), one of India’s leading law firms, where she advised clients on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters.
Following her relocation to Kolkata, Soma served as Legal Head at Vinod Kothari & Company, further strengthening her expertise in corporate structuring, finance transactions, regulatory compliance and strategic advisory. She joined S.K. Lath & Co. in 2016 with the commencement of SKN Legal LLP and has since played a significant role in expanding the Firm’s corporate and commercial advisory capabilities.

- Advising corporates, investors, start-ups and family-owned businesses on corporate structuring, governance and regulatory compliance matters.
- Leading private equity, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign investment and business transfer transactions.
- Conducting legal due diligence and negotiating, drafting and reviewing transaction and investment documentation.
- Assisting clients with business establishment in India, commercial contracts, shareholder arrangements and strategic business partnerships.
- Advising on complex finance, leasing, intellectual property assignments and other high-value domestic and cross-border commercial transactions.
